Flying into Bhutan - the flight into Paro is one of the most spectacular in the world, with an intricate and exhilarating final descent into the kingdom. Please note that due to variable weather conditions, and the fact that Paro airport can only operate during daylight hours, flight delays can occur. It is advisable to keep lengthy connecting times with any onward flights.

Also, there is no prior seat allocation available on Drukair or Bhutan Airlines flights into Bhutan from any sector in the economy or business class.

Domestic Air Travel

Drukair also operates domestic flights within Bhutan. These flights take place from Paro to Bathpalathang (Bumthang), and Paro to Yonphula (east Bhutan). This air link will provide an excellent opportunity for those wanting to explore the western and eastern districts of Bhutan without the lengthy drive times.

However, these flights are prone to delays & cancellations because of weather conditions.

Flying into Bhutan is an experience in itself.  Flights from Delhi and Kathmandu run parallel to the Himalayan range with awesome views of the world's highest mountain.  The visual approach along the valley into Paro airport makes for an exhilarating and exciting arrival into the country.
Bhutan’s national carrier - Drukair, and Bhutan Airlines are the only two airlines that offer international flights into Bhutan’s international airport in Paro - an hour's drive from Thimphu.
