DAILY PACKAGE RATES AND POLICIES

Is Bhutan affordable is a long ongoing debate.  The first impression one gets is that USD 200 per day is super exorbitant.  It is - if this were the cost of simply being in the country.  What most people overlook is that you do not need to spend a penny more.  The USD 200 (or USD 200 plus - depending on the size of group and season of the tour) covers all the expenses mentioned below.  This is close to what it would cost a Bhutanese for similar services in neighboring countries.

Bhutan is only expensive for the backpacker as minimum standards are statutory.

PAYMENT BY WIRE TRANSFER

Prior to your trip to Bhutan, you will be asked to wire the full payment for your holiday to the Tourism Council of Bhutan. You must wire the tour payment per the tour invoice provided by us to the Bhutan National Bank through one of their certified international partners with the Bhutanese tour operator specified as the ultimate beneficiary. You will then have to email a copy of the bank wire receipt to us for processing visa.

We realize that this is a cumbersome process, but is a statutory control system to ensure that government stipulated rates are followed by tour operators.
